Candidates, society and politics are critical of the work of recruiters. That is why a group of recruitment professionals started in 2018 to work out what good recruitment looks like. After dozens of meetings, market consultations and discussions, the result, The Recruiter Code, was completed. The Recruiter Code is a coherent set of practical guidelines, ethical principles, rules and views that the recruiter applies in the exercise of our profession.
The Recruiter Code describes the knowledge and behavior that belong to competent and honest recruitment and thus contributes to the professionalization of recruiters. Almost 40 provisions provide clarity about how recruitment works. Everyone, including the applicant or vacancy holder, who reads the Code knows, after reading, what can be expected from a professional recruiter.
